A 100-Level Character Development Story 🎭

University relationships... when it comes down to heartbreak or rejection, you can’t really decide which hits more. Well, I’ve tasted one side of the coin recently, and let me tell you—it was not a pleasant one.

Yes, I was sent to school for academic and mental development, but trust me, I’m a scholar who also wants to live that good life. But let me not bore you with the curriculum. Let’s dive deep under the duvet and get into the real gist.

📍 The Encounter

It all started on a typical Tuesday morning. I had MTH101, and during the usual struggle to sign the attendance sheet after class, I happened to bump into a nice-looking girl with goggles. Omo, wow.

I signed right after her and realized our matric numbers were close—meaning we'd probably be grouped together often. I was impressed by how she carried herself; she wasn’t flashy, but she wasn't "anyhow" either. She was giving pure wifely material vibes. At that point, I didn’t even have her name.

📱 The "Charm" Offensive

About a week later, I secured the name and the digits. I holla-ed at her and, as expected, she was single. She mentioned she wasn't looking for a relationship, but I was certain my charm could change that. Big mistake.

Omo, it was then I found out she rarely comes online, she’s a certified dry texter, and she’s 100% focused on her books. Was all hope lost? Nope. My mind kept playing the "What If" game. What if she’s just shy? What if she’s just focused? I kept pushing.

❄️ The Cold Room

Despite the occasional vibe over anime or school stress, everything else remained dry. Last week, I texted her—no reply. I checked up on her again—silence. I sent one more text to share some info—still nothing.

We attend classes together. I’m a shy guy, and I’ve waved; she waves back, but that’s where it ends. All I feel right now is that I got rejected, and honestly? I’m pained.

The Irony 🤡

The funny part is that whenever we meet in person, we both seem too shy to speak. But the sting is real. This is my latest "L," but we move. Character development completed.

My First Days in FGC Warri Boarding school wasn't on my life's agenda. But then, FGC Warri happened. Before I entered Federal Government College, Warri, I had my own big plans. Smart plans.
